VECINDARIO is a city in the southeast of Gran Canaria, with an estimated population of 45.000 inhabitants. It belongs to the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. It lies about 35 km from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 12 from the airport, 16 of Maspalomas and another 3 from the coast.

At about 3 km long Avenida Canarias and the surrounding area are located approximately 2.000 stores. Numerous cafes, bars and restaurants with terraces invite you to refresh and relax. In addition, there are shopping centers such as the "Atlantico" and "La Ciel", with about 200 shops and 15 cinemas.

On October they celebrate the "Fiesta en honor a San Rafael", in honour of San Rafael, witch includes among other treditional events a large cattle show.

On the beach "El Arenal", are processed the World Championships in windsurfing.

Vecindario is the center of the metropolitan area in the southeast of Gran Canaria, consisting of the municipalities of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Agüimes and Ingenio. Here lives about 115.000 inhabitants.
