Arguineguin is a fishing village in the south of Gran Canaria and belongs to the municipality of Mogan. It has approx. 12.000 inhabitans. Located directly at the coast. It is about 70 km from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, about 45 km from the airport and 10 km from Maspalomas. It is a popular place for German and Scandinavian residents. Despite the beach and port, there are not so much on tourism like in Maspalomas and Playa del English. It is possible to take ships to Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogan. The Tuesday market is one of the largest on the island.The principal events in the year are the "Virgen del Carmen" in July and the Carnival
