AGÜIMES is a municipality in the southeast of Gran Canaria, 270 m above the sea level, and with an estimated population of 6.000 inhabitants (Village). To the municipality belongs Cruce de Arinaga, Playa de Arinaga, Polígono de Arinaga, Montaña los Veléz, Las Rosas, La Banda, y Tamisas. The complete population is about 27.000 . It lies about 40 km from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 13 from the airport, 25 of Maspalomas, and another 8 from the coast. The village has hotels and other accommodations for rural tourism.
